No more politics as usual!
I don't know about you but I'm tired of politics as usual. We've recently seen the effects from it, when politicians don't listen to their constituents. Citizen's like you and me are frustrated that we have no say. We are tired of hearing people talk about how they understand us. How can they say that when they have never had to struggle the way you and I have had to struggle?
I have four beautiful children and a loving supportive husband who I am blessed with. I'm fighting for them. I'm fighting for our friends and our neighbors. I'm fighting for their children and grandchildren. I'm just like you. I work hard to feed my family and keep a roof over their heads. I have had to choose between food on the table and gas in the car. I know what it's like to look into the face of your children and have to tell them that no we can't go get a hamburger or a burrito. I will never forget how that feels!
I ran for City Council because I was frustrated that my husband try as he did could not get a job and I knew that if he couldn't get one, other's couldn't. I have been working diligently to bring jobs to the Valley. My idea was to bring in filming. We will be debuting the Film San Jacinto Project in the coming months. You will see from the debut that I don't believe in following the herd. If we continue to follow the herd we will fall off the cliff.
When I grew up I remember the pride we had in our country. There was a time when being an American meant something more. A time when we worked hard, helped our neighbors and we were strong. Our economy was booming and when things didn't go right we pulled together to make this nation the greatest nation on earth. It didn't come easy and it didn't happen overnight. Many lives were lost fighting for us to live in the land of the free. Some say those days are long gone. I say we might be fighting a different battle now, but we must continue to fight for our right to live and thrive in this great nation. One day we will be that great nation again and it will be because folks like you and me fought the good fight and never gave up.
My name is Crystal Ruiz and I am running for State Senate!
